It was a real pleasure to be invited by MISCO to speak at their Training Practices in Organisations 2025 event, hosted in collaboration with The Malta Chamber. It’s always encouraging to see organisations putting time and energy into conversations about upskilling, especially when those conversations start addressing the human elements of work—like mental health, resilience, and real-world decision-making.

Role As Speaker At Misco Talks
My contribution to the MISCO TALKS discussion was to bring a mental health lens to the topic of workplace training—highlighting how wellbeing is not just a “perk” but a performance enabler. In particular, I focused on how mental health intersects with decision-making: how we think under pressure, how stress shapes choices, and how training that ignores emotional and cognitive load risks falling flat.
To illustrate the impact of prioritization in training, I shared practical case studies from my training experiences with working with companies as a Misco trainer. I shared how decision making skills have enhanced prioritization to focus on what truly matters. Where this was achieved it created improved psychological safety, emotional intelligence and great working environments.
Training In Organisaitons Report
The MISCO TALKS event was to promote the report published by Misco raining Practices in Organisations 2025 and share the insights with the HR managers and audience of the day. The 2025 report published at MISCO TALKS event highlights some pressing insights:
Decision-making is one of the most lacking skills in the workforce.
Soft skills like communication and leadership are valued, but not often given focus.
Employees increasingly believe soft skills training improves retention.
These stats underline a core point I made in the session: if we want better training outcomes, we need to design learning that integrates the psychological as well as the practical. That means creating environments where learning isn't just tolerated, but mentally sustainable.
